Hey Steve;
I was looking over the list of those already passed. Don't know is you want to add anything or not, but I did have a couple of thoughts. First off, was Lila Britton in the class of 66? You remember she also died with my cousin Virginia and think they were 17 or maybe a little younger. Mary Whitsitt d have a brother who had seizures and died long ago, but Gary and Larry were OK. I think Ronnie was the one with the seizures and he was with us in 2nd grade. (Don't have to include this tid-bit, but you remember he was given a phone book instead of real 2nd grade books? He would be out of control lots of times and he would damage his "book" sometimes then.) JC Gould had the spine problem and a bad heart came along with that. He was bright in school and attended college until, sadly, his heart would not allow him to negotiate the stairs while there, and he had to drop out because of that. Sad for him because I know he loved school and probably love learning in college too. After that, he would be seen helping his dad on the gasoline tanker truck until his heart finally gave out and he passed back in 71 I'm pretty sure.
Our classmates are special to me, as I am just more comfortable around them than anyone else. I guess when you grow up with certain group of folks, everybody knows everybody else and everything you did a well, good and bad. There is no pretense, (well, there was a time some of us tried to give the impression they had "risen to the top" so to speak, but that never really carried any weight with the rest of the class.) No matter how far you go or high you attain, those who grow up with you only remember you as one of that special group, even if you become president or become the new Pope. Still that kid you always knew.
Great thing you do for the class Steve. Hi to Glo.

My sister Mary was married to Dennis Shelton (sp?) long ago. He was an electrician, you might remember? He and his friends would get to drinking and clime the radio tower in the old burg and unscrew the warning light way up there. It was a dangerous prank and maybe even more so for the small airplanes flying the area. The real kicker was, next thing to happen was, they would pay his dad's company, who he worked for, to go up and change that bulb. Don't know how many times he did this, but they probably thought there was a lot of "defective" bulbs being used.
I was never afraid of heights as a boy and climbed every tree we owned until the branches would begin to crack and break under me. Probably petrified my mom. During my first day or days off the coast of Vietnam, while going to sound the tanks, (measure how much water I had made with the evaporators,) and on top of the out-board hatch to the forward fire-room, the heel came off my GI shoe, letting me fall 26.5 feet straight down. That is what happened to my body and why I've had a gimp ever since. I can tell you I changed my mind about heights after that one and I hate like hell to be up on a ladder. If I must go up on one, I can only use one hand, as the other one is holding on with a "death" grip. Thanks for the info.

I really like your story. Mary Ann White, Penny, Marilyn Keckley, and Tina Tweedy and I were trained by Mrs. Smetana
when we were 16 as nurses aides at Phillips County Hospital. The older nurses aides were lovely to us but also had fun tricking us.
My training there served me well, as I paid my way through college working as a nurses aide. We did have some good mentors in P-burg.

Hi Steve -
You did a great job of pulling together the class for the 50th reunion.
I'm sorry I was unable to make it.
I got a call from Jerry Mayhew, my second cousin. He told me he was
sitting at a table other than the class - and, therefore, did not get the
word about the class picture that was taken. That's sad. It was good
to talk with him and sort of "touch base" after so many years.
Are you putting together a list of emails for the class members?
That would sure be fun to have to get in touch after seeing so many
in the picture.
Thanks for all you did to make the reunion a success.

Steve, You da man! Great to see you again and get to know Gloria better. Thanks for the fast turn around and quality work.
My closest Walgreen's is at 1770 Hover, Longmont 80501. Hope to see you again soon. Told Mike I'd come to
Pueblo to do neurofeedback with some of his patients and others so it may happen sooner than later. Will let you know.
Thanks for the brews, Padrone and time together. Love, Pat
